My favourite thing though, is the way Jessica was able to emphasize the character of God and immutable truths about Him in a conversational, yet truthful way.

Jessica brings a refreshing perspective to the Christmas story, highlighting the actual meaning of the text with historical context. Not only will my children be learning a much more accurate version of the story than I grew up with, I also had the chance to re-examine some how my Western/American mindset has twisted my view of what Scripture actually says. I learned so much from this study, and yet each day was incredibly bite-sized and manageable.

Her voicing is exactly how I would talk to my children, but the wording is so powerful that I found myself in tears at a few passages because the impact of God’s love was still maintained at full strength.

I was so encouraged by the way women were included beyond just a few words about Mary, I didn’t feel erased from the story based on my gender, but rather encouraged that God uses everyone for very important roles.
